This non-woven felt made from PLA (polylactic acid) is a 100% bio-compostable bioplastic. PLA NT effectively prevents weed growth while providing an excellent mulching effect. Easy to handle and compatible with mechanised planting, it is particularly suited for hedges and other plantation projects.
PLA, or polylactic acid, is a biodegradable thermoplastic polymer made from renewable resources such as corn, sugar beet, or sugarcane. It is commonly used for disposable cutlery, food packaging, and 3D printing. PLA is valued for its lower environmental impact compared to fossil-based plastics, as it can decompose under industrial composting conditions. In the context of mulch fabrics, PLA provides an alternative between fully biodegradable and synthetic mulches.
